Emera Beach was introduced on the 27th May 2016 as a part of the Big Spring Update.
Emera Beach is unlocked at Trainerlevel 12.
To access the Emera Beach, hover over the 'Town' tab, and select 'Emera Beach'.
Fishing
The main feature of the Emera Beach is that it is the perfect fishing spot.
Within this update, a new 'fishing' minigame has been implemented.
The Minigame
When you speak to Leah the Mermaid, she will gift you your first fishing rod; the Old Rod .
Now that you have your first rod, you can start playing the minigame. Located here is all your rods, bait, your fish box and your energy percent inside a green bar.
Note: Your fisher artwork depends on the gender chosen while registering, you can change it on your Profile Settings.
To start fishing you have to throw your rod and wait until an exclamation mark is shown above your fisher. Select "Pull rod" and start pulling up the Fish/Pokémon. In order to make it go up, you have to wait until the yellow tide gets under the Magikarp sprite. If you pull when it isn't on the yellow tide, the Pokémon will go down. Depending on the Pokemon, you have a set time to catch it, if the counter goes down to 0, the fish will escape.
Your Rods/Baits
There is first all the Rods you've gotten from Leah the Mermaid. Pay her a visit to see what she would want in exchange for better rods.
The currently obtainable rods are:
Fish Box
The fish box stores all your caught Fish-Pokémon until you either adopt them, release them or exchange them with Leah the Mermaid.
Shiny pokemom will be separated from any of their normal counterparts you may have caught. Some of the Pokémon caught may turn out to be mega-able, although this will not be shown in the fish box.
You can only adopt up to 10 Fish-Pokémon from your fish box per day.
There isn't a time limit to adopt them and you can catch as many as you want as they won't disappear.
Catching Fish/Pokemon
Mainly Fish-like or Water-type Pokémon can be caught on the Beach, the better the rod is, the rarer the Pokémon. The possibilities of catching the Pokémon with a certain rod depends on their rarity.

Thunderstorms
During thunderstorms, the Emera Beach is closed and all features will be unaccessible. This includes the mini-game, Los Seashellos as well as Leah the Mermaid. Players will have to wait for the thunderstorm to pass before being able to access all features again. The weather in Emera Town can be monitored through the Castform Weather channel.
Having possession of the Fisherman's Hat would allow access to the mini-game, even during thunderstorms. However, all other features remain unavailable.
Los Seashellos
The Los Seashellos is a fancy restaurant at the beach. There you can buy various refreshing drinks and tasty meals that will restore your energy. You can only buy a single dish once per day as you will drown if you eat too much!
While you're ordering a dish, you have the option to tip the waiter. You can give anywhere from 0 to 100 PokéDollars as a tip.
The Menu
The Menu contains many drinks/dishes that will help you with your energy. You may from time to time unlock more new dishes.

Leah the Mermaid
Leah the Mermaid introduces herself to you and proposes you begin exchanging items & Fish-Pokemon with one another due to the fact that she, as a mermaid, cannot catch the Fish-Pokemon at Emera Beach herself.
Trading with Leah
Everyday Leah offers items in exchange for Fish-Pokemon from your Fish Box or other items. She will not accept Fish-Pokemon you have hatched out of eggs and they must come from the beach.
Apart of her stock or what type of Fish-Pokemon she is looking for for certain items change daily. However, some items, such as Submarine Volcano Maps, will remain on her trading list everyday.
There is no limit to how many times a day you can make a trade with Leah, the only limit is the amount of a Fish-Pokemon species in your Fish Box.
