The Global Trade Station is one of the best and quickest ways to find Pokemon you need. You are able to put any Pokemon up for trade, and wait for other users to offer another Pokemon. You cannot offer or set up eggs.
The Global Trade Station can be accessed by hovering over the Town tab located at the top every page.
Searching For Pokemon
On the Global Trade Station page, you can search for a specific Pokemon you may want. Not all Pokemon will be in the GTS, so if you try searching for a Pokemon but cannot find one, you may have to search for another Pokemon.
Setting up a trade
In the GTS, you are also able to set up your Pokemon up for trade. Your trades will be up in public, meaning other users can see it and can offer on it.
You can only set up Pokemon you currently own, and you cannot set up eggs.
When setting up a Pokemon, you can choose a Pokemon which is currently in your party, or in a box. If you click on a Pokemon, it will display it's name & level, whether it is a shiny or not, and it will show the item the Pokemon is holding.
Busy Pokémon cannot be set up in a trade, and a Pokémon will become busy once it is set up in a trade or offer.
If you set up a wrong Pokemon, you always can cancel the trade anytime.
Once you have selected a Pokemon, at the bottom of the page, you can add a little comment. It is optional, but is recommended that you fill it out if you are looking for a specific Pokemon.
BBCodes will not be displayed in the comments.
Viewing other trades
Instead of searching for Pokemon using the search function, you can view most recent trades set up by other users. You can view them by pressing View all trades on the GTS menu.
On each trade, you can see the user which set up the trade. It displays their sprite, name, gender, level, the item it's holding and a comment.
Clicking Details links to the Pokemon's summary page, whereas clicking Offer allows you to pick a Pokemon which is currently in your party, or is in a box to offer on the Pokemon. Make sure your offer is fair. If someone has set up a Legendary Pokemon, but you offer an Easy Pokemon, there are high chances that it will not be accepted.
You cannot offer on your own trades - clicking Offer will redirect you to a page which informs you that you cannot offer on your own Pokemon.
Viewing your trades
By viewing your trades, you can see the Pokemon you have set up, and you will have the ability to cancel the trade. By cancelling the trade, it will not be shown in public, but nobody will be able to offer on it.
By viewing your trades, you can also see what Pokemon other users have offered on it. You can only accept one offer, or by cancelling the trade, you are declining all the offers made in that trade.
Wonder trades
As of 25th April 2014, a new type of trade has been implemented, the Wonder Trade. This trade consists on leaving some Pokémon (up to 5) for trade, and at 10 PM server time, they will be randomly exchanged for Pokémon that others users have left in their Wonder trades as well. You will not know who you are trading with.
If you have participated in a Wonder trade, you will receive a notification when it happens, telling you what you obtained from the trade.
Wonder trades are unlocked at Trainerlevel 8.
Note: What you get from the trade is completely random. This means you can set up a common Pokémon and you can get a rare one, or even Shinies and legendaries (if any has been set up) or vice versa.
Setting up a wonder trade
To set up a wonder trade, choose the Pokémon you want to trade from your boxes/party and they will be ready for the Wonder trade. You can take your Pokémon back at any time if you change your mind before the trade happens.
Wonder trade slots
The maximum number of wonder trades you can set up at a time is given if you meet certain requirements. The maximum number of Wonder trade that you can set up at the same time is 5.
Wonder Trade slots | |
---|---|
1 | Basic |
2 | Unlocked at Trainerlevel 15 |
3 | Unlocked at Trainerlevel 20 |
4 | Unlocked with a Premium Account |
5 | Unlocked upon having a Wonder Trade Gold card |
Wonder Trade raffle
Everyday one random Pokémon at the Wonder Trade Station is exchanged by a secret Pass Code, which can be submitted at the bottom of the page. Upon submitting a Pass Code, you will obtain an Ho-Oh egg.
Secret Pass Codes can be redeemed by any user, not only who the one who originally recieved it, meaning you can give the code for other user for they to obtain the egg instead. However, each pass code can only be submitted once.
Shiny Wonder Trade
As of May 2015 a new feature of "shiny wonder trade" has been introduced. This works in a similar fashion as the normal wonder trade.
- You can only set up shiny pokemon for exchange
- Wonder Trade does not take place daily, pokemon will be traded every Wednesday and Saturday at 10 PM [server time]
- A regular Ho-Oh pass code is given out every wondertrade to a random participant, but very rarely, a shiny Ho-Oh pass code is given out.
