Mew is a Legendary Pokémon which was available for 2 weeks (01/Jul/2013 to 14/Jul/2013) when the site first opened.

Mew was then obtainable once again if users have obtained a Mew Plushie from the Dream World Shop from July 1st to July 14th of 2014; July 17th to Aug 05 of 2015; July 01 of 2016-2019 until July 15th of 2016, July 16th in 2017 and 2018, July 19th in 2019, and July 17th in 2020- respectively. If users had the Mew Plushie, they were able to summon a Mew from the Ancient Cave.

Hatching a Mew egg would not count towards your shiny chain.
